A notice from All Japan Nishikigoi Promotion Association Niigata district

Dear Sirs,

We are glad to have another high season for Nishikigoi.

First, we’d like to express our apologies to those who were concerned, and had
inconvenience due to the fact that some Shinkokai Niigata district members were
found to have their koi infected with KHV disease.

We are aware that there are anonymous documents, via facsimile or through the
Internet, that contain information which are not completely true. These papers
appear to have identified the route of infection – they list names of individuals
or breeders as if some individuals or breeders were identified to be KHV positive
farms. These are phony papers with mal intentions.

Niigata prefecture office and Shinkokai Niigata district are not giving out information
that would verify personal names or names of breeders, as to protect privacies of
individuals.

We request that you would not trust information whose source are not certain,
information that come out of nowhere – or not to put those into papers, nor pass
them to others so as to prevent harmful rumors.
